The Course
Get ready for a gorgeous 5K loop around beautiful Lake Merritt — one of the oldest and most beloved race courses in all of Northern California. Flat, scenic, and a great time whether you're racing for a PR or enjoying a morning walk. The course is wheelchair friendly and open to all paces and abilities.
Location: Lake Merritt, Bellevue Ave., Oakland, CA
Race Day Schedule:
- 7:00 am — Check-in and race day registration opens
- 9:00 am — We're off!
Race packets will not be mailed in advance, so come ready to run!
Running Virtually? We've Got You Covered
Can't be there in person? Join us from wherever you are! Register by April 16, 2027 to guarantee your T-shirt size — after that, shirts are first-come, first-served and mailed two weeks after the event.
Download the ITS Virtual Race App and follow the step-by-step instructions to log your time. You can post your result anytime from April 16 through May 2, 2027. Final results go live on race day — you'll be right there with us in spirit!

Glory awaits the fast ones! We'll be recognizing top overall male and female finishers, top Masters (50+) male and female, and top 3 male and female in each age group: 10 & under, 11–14, 15–18, 19–29, 30–49, 50–64, 65–79, and 80 & over. And every single finisher gets a participant T-shirt — because everyone's a winner on race day.
